For me, painting is a process where instinct meets a sense of control. From the age of twelve where I discovered painting to be the most natural way to express myself, I spent over five years in Bulgaria researching and learning the classical language of painting, composition, landscape and plastic anatomy before taking my studies further in the UK.

Attracted to nature, the human body and spirit and acknowledging their big role in life I wanted to capture the essence of the body and the landscape as accurately as possible. This focus and inspiration together with interests in the balance we find in nature between objects and air became a major drive in my creative development. My inspirations and sources have also come from mythology, memories and personal experiences of places which have had an effect on me in a specific way.
